Saree School Lesson 12 - How to sit on the floor.

Lesson 12 is all about sitting on the floor in your saree - easy peasy if you follow these 2 steps!

Step 1: Hold your pallu on your right arm and then gather, shake, and hold your front pleats with your left hand.

Step 2: Slowly sit down on the floor cross-legged.

Saree School Lesson 11 - How to preserve your lace sarees.

Feed a band-aid, button, or piece of paper through the safety pin before pinning your saree. I used white paper here so that it is easy to see in the video but would recommend using a similar colour to the saree.

Saree School Lesson 9 - Use a bindhi/pottu when pinning delicate fabrics.

Using a bindhi/pottu when pinning will save all of your delicate sarees from safety pins snagging the fabric and getting stuck/creating a tear. You can also use a band-aid, a piece of paper, or a button!

Saree School Lesson 8 - Easy hip pleats (method #1).

One method to achieve beautiful hip pleats is to reach under your front pleats, grab the extra fabric, twist and tuck it into your underskirt. This doesn't just create hip pleats but it also ensures that the saree stays taut between the front pleats and the pallu.

Saree School Lesson 7 - Tucking in your pleats.

After you've staggered your front pleats, tuck them into your underskirt to the right of your belly button. This will ensure that your pleats are nice and centered.
